General Transportation Notice for Anton/Bauer Batteries

Anton/Bauer, Inc certifies following models of Anton/Bauer batteries DO NOT CONTAIN lithium or lithium ion cells and therefore are NOT subject to air transportation restrictions under Section A45-2 of the Hazardous Substance Standards of the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO):

• Proformer (14.4 volt Nickel Cadmium)

• TrimPac (14.4 volt Nickel Cadmium)
• Digital TrimPac (14.4 volt Nickel Cadmium)
• ProPac (14.4 volt Nickel Cadmium)
• Digital ProPac (14.4 volt Nickel Cadmium)
• HyTRON 50 (14.4 volt Nickel Metal Hydride)

• HyTRON 100 (14.4 volt Nickel Metal Hydride)
• HyTRON 140 (14.4 volt Nickel Metal Hydride)

While the batteries listed above can be shipped and otherwise transported without special declaration, operators should be aware of any carry-on or other transport restrictions which may be placed on batteries to carry-on or check as luggage in passenger aircraft. Anton/Bauer recommends that its customers confirm with any passenger air carrier to determine local rules or policy.

The following Anton/Bauer battery products only contain lithium ion cells and may be subject to transport limitations as defined by IATA/ICAO regulations:

• Dionic 80 (14.4 volt Lithium Ion)
• Dionic 90 (14.4 volt Lithium Ion)
• Dionic 160 (14.4 volt Lithium Ion)

 

All types of batteries may be subject to certain restrictions in general transport (e.g., ship or trucking companies) as well as when they are packed or taken as carry-on luggage in commercial passenger aircraft. Therefore, Anton/Bauer recommends that its customers confirm with any carrier to determine local rules or policy. The application of regulations varies according to the company and the transport of any equipment is up to the carrier to accept.
